These terms explain how to use CarTales. In plain language: the service helps you maintain car records and reminders, but it does not replace professional diagnostics or the owner's judgment.

1. Accepting these terms
These Terms govern the CarTales mobile applications, website, and server features. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
If you use CarTales for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept the Terms for it.
2. What CarTales does
CarTales lets you store car, mileage, and maintenance information, add photos, sync records, create reports, and receive notifications you select. Features may evolve as the product develops.
Important: mileage, intervals, and reminders rely on information you enter. CarTales does not diagnose a vehicle or guarantee whether a failure will occur. Follow the manufacturer's materials and consult qualified professionals.
3. Your account and security
Provide current information, use a unique password, and do not share passwords, codes, or sessions. You are responsible for activity under the account until you notify us of compromise or delete it.
We may temporarily limit login after repeated failures and revoke sessions when token theft is suspected. If you notice suspicious activity, change your password and email support@cartales.ru.
4. Your content and responsibility for data
You retain your rights in the data, notes, and images you add. You give CarTales a limited, non-exclusive permission to store and process that content, transform images for secure delivery, and display it only as needed to operate features you choose.
You are responsible for the accuracy, completeness, currency, and lawfulness of the data you enter, for having rights to uploaded material, and for decisions made based on that data. Do not add unlawful or malicious content, or another person's data without a lawful basis.
5. Acceptable use
You may not bypass security, access another person's account, probe the service in a way that threatens security, distribute malicious code, overload infrastructure, automate requests contrary to reasonable limits, or use CarTales in violation of law or others' rights.
We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users and the service, comply with law, or address a material breach. Where practical, we will first explain the problem and offer a chance to fix it.
6. Availability and changes
We work toward reliable operation, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Maintenance, network failures, app-store dependencies, or third-party providers can cause interruptions. We may add, change, or discontinue features while trying not to unexpectedly degrade core capabilities.
Data storage is not unconditional: CarTales does not guarantee indefinite, uninterrupted, or error-free storage and is not a backup service. Install app updates regularly and separately preserve information whose loss could create a significant risk for you.
7. Responsibility
CarTales is responsible for processing personal data and applying reasonable organizational and technical safeguards to the extent required by the Privacy Policy and applicable law. No system can be completely secure, so CarTales does not guarantee absolute data preservation or that failures, attacks, and data loss will never occur.
To the extent allowed by applicable law, CarTales is not liable for the preservation or loss of data where the user kept no separate copy, inaccurate or outdated user-entered data, loss caused by the user or their device, indirect losses, lost profits, or vehicle-operation and repair decisions based solely on user records or reminders. These limits do not exclude liability that law does not allow us to exclude and do not restrict your mandatory consumer rights.
8. Ending use and deletion
You may stop using CarTales at any time. To delete your account, open profile settings, select “Delete account,” and confirm with your password. The Privacy Policy explains data deletion.
Account deletion is irreversible. Provisions concerning responsibility, rights in content, dispute resolution, and anything that by its nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
9. Governing law and disputes
The relationship is governed by law that mandatorily applies where the service operator is established, without depriving you of non-waivable consumer rights where you live. Contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern fairly and informally. Unresolved disputes may be brought before a competent court under applicable procedural rules.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms at any time, including without prior notice, as the service or applicable requirements evolve. The current version will always be posted here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects your rights and applicable law requires notice, we will use the notice method required by law. Continuing to use the service after the update takes effect means accepting the revised Terms.
